The Polymath Project, S3 E4: Health, Education, and a Better Tomorrow

Children are the future, but societal institutions fail to accommodate them in vitally important ways. The latest episode of The Polymath Project tackles these concerns head on. Using the United States as a case study, host Arman Rousta breaks down two key institutions: education and the overlapping food/health industries. He examines where and how the status quo is shortchanging our youth, and proposes alternative trajectories for a healthier, more enriched tomorrow.

One of his chief concerns is the sedentary nature of the contemporary educational model. Rousta proposes the integration of exercise and heightened physical activity into the pedagogy of American youth. This aligns perfectly with the “Vigorous Play” sensibility that constitutes one of Basement Sports 7 Core Principles. We can’t champion it enough.
